Vancouver-based Electric Lightwave sells for $1.4 billion
Electric Lightwave, a Vancouver company that connects large organizations with high-capacity fiber-optic cables, sold Wednesday to Colorado-based telecom business called Zayo Group for $1.4 billion in cash. This year alone, Electric Lightwave's sale is the fourth Silicon Forest deal worth more than $1 billion. Founded 20 years ago in Washington County, privately held Electric Lightwave was known as Integra Telecom for most of its existence.
