Baseball Officials Negotiate With Labor Deal Set to Expire
Owners, players and officials from Major League Baseball and the union resumed negotiations Wednesday morning after a marathon overnight session in Dallas, where the union is holding its executive board meeting. The other important issues were said to be free-agent compensation and reworking the entry process for international amateur players. Baseball's last work stoppage was the strike that canceled the 1994 World Series and bled into the next season.
