Acclaimed Melbourne architect Peter Corrigan dies after long illness
A building for young people, was Peter Corrigan's description of his most provocative and public building, RMIT's Building 8 on Swanston Street. For Corrigan, who died on December 1 after a long illness, work as an educator at RMIT and architect with Edmond and Corrigan was always directed at the next generation. Like his gruff charm, Corrigan's buildings - churches, fire stations, houses - were charged with larrikin provocation and imbued with intellect and romance.
