With new technologies and knowledge of segregation, India is fast learning how to manage its waste
People brought segregated waste to three centres, which gave away plastics for recycling and composted the organic waste. Two months ago, tirunelveli in tamil nadu became the first indian town to practise 100 per cent segregation of waste. As segregation picks up slowly around the country, new ways of using the separated waste are also emerging. In fact, drying of waste increased the income of the pickers as they could sell the dry waste.
