Mets' Home Run Barrage Can't Overcome Wheeler's Poor Pitching
Zack Wheeler was the Mets' most consistent starter over the first two months of the season but turned in his second straight rough start. The late rallies and a home run barrage by the Mets were not enough to overcome the deficit created by Wheeler and exacerbated by reliever Fernando Salas. With Wheeler out of the game, Rafael Montero provided a lift with stout pitching over three and two-thirds innings.
