NASA’s Kepler mission finds over 200 new planets, of which 10 are earth-size
On June 19, 2017, the United States space agency NASA announced that 219 new planet candidates have been discovered by the Kepler space telescope. Ten of these discovered planets are close to the size of the earth, are potentially rocky and are orbiting in the habitable zone of their star. The habitable zone is the range of distance from a star within which liquid water could emerge on the surface of the planet to support life.
